Sagot :
the historian Xenophon, the playwright Aristophanes and the philosopher Platon. The first portrayed Socrates as a sage absorbed by the idea of identifying the knowledge and virtue, but with a personality that is not missing some features somewhat vulgar. Aristophanes did object of his satire in a comedy, The Clouds (423), which is identified with the other sophists and is caricatured as artist misleading speech. These two accounts of Socrates color the image offered by Plato in his Dialogues, which appears as the central figure, an image that no longer sometimes overly idealized, even when considering what is possibly the most just. It is true that Socrates married at a rather advanced age, with Xanthippe, who bore him two daughters and a son. Certain tradition has perpetuated the topic of derogatory wife to the husband and activity likely to behave in a brutal and coarse. In terms of appearance, Socrates always described as a stocky man with a pot belly, bulging eyes and thick lips, just as also attributed disheveled. Socrates would have spent wandering the streets and markets of Athens, where he took to the common people (merchants, farmers or craftsmen) as partners to subject them to lengthy interrogations.
